Housing Benefit Tenants
Rent Arrears

I have just had a DSS tenant and the rent is now two weeks late. I read somewhere that one can get housing benefits/DSS to cough up the cash asap. What is the real situation?

Also letter (form from RLA site) to housing benefit stating rent should be paid directly to me (landlord) has not been answered. Is it possible that tenant has decided to annul the notice? Shouldn't the HB notice this change of circumstance to me?

PS: This is my first DSS tenant and I am little nervous!
