Hi there, I have a student house with 6 students under a joint and several tenancy. They have just left (tenancy expired today) but one student failed to pay the last month's rent and I cannot contact her. The total deposit of £1020 is protected. I propose to notify the students of a deduction of £346 for unpaid rent and then split the remainder between the 5 paid up students.

Is this the right course of action?
