Hi, I am looking for some general advice/factual knowledge. One of my tenants has recently moved out of a property, it was discovered during viewings that they have had a cat living at the property. This was confirmed by the tenant via email after I had confronted her about the pet. I do not allow pets at the property as it is a small flat on the second floor with no access to private outside space. The tenant arranged for the carpets to be cleaned however the smell that has been left at the property is not pleasant to say the least, even with a carpet clean! I am within rights to ask for the carpets in the flat to be replaced and for the cost to be deducted from the deposit? Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks
