Is my section 21 still valid?

Hallo,

We have had a bit of a problem with a tenant and issued a S21 notice planning to claim the property back at the end of this month.

The tenant has come to discuss with us staying on and we want to give him another chance.

If we agree to let him stay, will that mean that the S21 will no longer be valid or can we use it to reclaim the property if we have future problems? We did discuss with our agent and he was adamant we would need to re-issue a S21
