Extend the period for a Section 21 to take effect?
Possession - Section 8 and Section 21

Please can you advise if it is possible to extend the period of time for a Section 21 to take effect? I issued one two months ago, due to take effect on 1st October, but the tenants wish to remain in the property at the moment, and I am happy that they do so, if they can continue on the current periodic basis. Otherwise can I by letter withdraw the current section 21, and leave the periodic tenancy in place for the moment?
