Possession - Section 8 and Section 21

Hello,

Am about to serve a section 21 notice on a tenant. Just want to double check dates:

Rent is due on the 22nd of the month so I am serving a notice that expires on the 21st December,(2 months from 22nd October).

Also, if i serve the notice after 4pm today, is it better to put tomorrows date as the service date on the section 21 or does it not matter?
