At present my tenancies are all for a minimum of six months, I am comfortable with the legal framework and responsibilities on both parts for such tenancies.

Some very current news is suggesting that Landlords should be more flexible and consider shorter term rentals, this can help increase yields, and apparently there is demand.

Before I would be happy to u ndertake shorter tenancies and lettings I would need to know and understand more about the legal side and practical implications of such changes. Apart from hiring a solicitor, where can this be investigated?

For example, can one use the RLA AST for periods of less than 6 months? How does this affect things like rights of tenure and repossession? I know there are Council tax implications. What else are things that we need to know about and consider for say a three month AST?
