We have been informed (by St Helens Council, Merseyside) that Pre Tenancy Determinations are no longer used by local authorities who are taking part in the roll out of Local Housing Allowance.

Is this true?

HomeLet will only provide rent guarantee for tenants in receipt of benefit if the tenant can provide a PTD. This effectively means that we cannot get rent guarantee for housing benefit tenants from HomeLet in the St Helens area. Before we take this up with HomeLet it would be useful to know whether PTD's are being phased out as part of the roll out of LHA or whether this is just a St Helens decision.
