Utility companies can make deductions on your meter without you knowing - tenants from two seperate properties complained to me that their meters were "eating" their credit. After a phone call I found out that charges had been made to both accounts even though the meters had been re-set and tenant details changed. One gas account was deducting £5 per week up to a total of £177.54 to be exact. Both extra payments were errors on the utilities behalf. It might be worth a phone call - you could get a refund !!
