AST agreement Clause A9.

Tenancy Deposits

I would like to check clause A9 in your AST agreement. "If there is more than one tenant PERSON A is chosen to deal with the deposit. That person can be replaced by another tenant as long as you tell us in writing."

I have a couple tenants who would like to do this. Person B would like to be appointed to deal with the deposit. However I have spoken to the DPS and they tell me this cannot be done. The deposit can only be paid to the registered tenant and they will need to sort this out between themselves. However in the above clause it states this can be altered.

Could you clarify this clause as it is misleading to the tenants. With the DPS the main tenant dealing with the deposit cannot be replaced without repaying the deposit and starting again.
