One of my tenancies has just come to an end and on taking property back have had to do a lot of cleaning and painting myself to bring property back up to a reasonable standard. As I have done this work myself I don't know how much it is appropriate to charge - is their an hourly of daily rate that is deemed 'appropriate' or 'fair' for such work. I know that I would normally have paid a cleaning company or painter c. £15-20 per hour to do work - should I use this figure? Clearly I will have no invoices or quotations to back up work if challneged through DPS.
