I have lodged a deposit on behalf of a landlord with the DPS.
The tenants left in June owing the last months rent and did a lot of damage. We asked for the deposit back and to cut a long story short, they sent it back to the tenants, saying there was insufficient evidence that they had not paid it.

Has anyone come across this - ie having to prove someone didn't pay their rent? We are boycotting the DPS altogher, we have followed the formal complaints procedure but got nowhere.

is there anything else I can do?
