Gas meter responsibility?

My understanding is that the actual gas meter is not the responsibility of the L/L and that L/L is responsible for all gas pipe (+ L/L gas appliances)in the property up to where it connects to the meter and for ensuring that this gas pipe is properly earthed. This earthing should be picked up on both the gas & electrical safety checks.
