deposit to be used as rent

My tenant has asked me to use his deposit as his rent for this month. I am unhappy about this as he has indicated that he would be leaving soon but not given me any formal notice. According to the AST that he signed it is clearly stated that the deposit cannot be used for paying rent. My faers are that he may go leaving unpaid bills behind. What can I do about this situation? Any advice will be highly appreciated.
