Dear Helpdesk

I have a property where the rent is over £25,000 and which will automatically become an AST on 1st October.

I understand that I have 14 days to protect the deposit from that date i.e 14th October.

However, the tenant has given notice and will be moving out on 22nd October.

It is absolutely necessary to go through all the procedure of protecting the deposit for just 8 days?

Thanks
