Can I serve Section 8 and Section 21 at the same time

I have a tenant that is 2 months in arrears. The tenancy is a 1 year tenancy with 6 months break clause. The tenant is into its 8 month. I am going to serve Section 8 Grounds 8,10 and 11 but I am afraid that if she brings the arears below 2 monthly payments I will not be granted possesion.
1. Can I serve at the same time section 21 which will allow me to ask for possesion after 2 months after serving the notice.
2. If the deposit is not protected can I protect the deposit now when the tenancy is into its 8 month? and serve Section 8 Grounds 8,10 and 11 after protecting the deposit?
