Tenant gave wrong name for tenancy agreement.

My Estate Agent got two references and the tenant gave him a wrong surname instead of the real on NHS or NI card. The result, he did not pay any rent,had to take him to court and he owes court expenses, wrong name on electricity bills, wrong name on Local taxes, water bills, and what not. He even opened an account with a Bank under this false name and cashed my cheque for £200 through this account.

He took away my flooring boards and I have reported it to Police.

Could Police do any thing to this crook? He must be drawing housing benefits either on my property or some one's elses.
