Been reading through this forum and I've found no surprise in the amount of posts relating to problem tenants, I've certainly had a few myself!

Just thinking, if you've got a tenant who is in arrears and its clear they wont pay, if you can get to speak to them, isnt it a better idea to just either write the debt off (if they'll leave) or pay them to leave!?

Might sound silly, but by the time you've gone through the courts and perhaps had to use a solicitor, you could easily have spent over a grand, not to mention the mortgage that you might still be paying!

With no chance of ever getting any money back (as you cant get blood out of a stone!) might just be worth paying them to go!

Any thought on the matter?!
