I have just served my first section 8 and want to make sure I have done this correctly. I had arranged to meet the tenant at the house to collect rent plus some of the arrears. There was no answer. I had intended to hand him the section 8 if he didn't stick to the agreement to pay down some of the arrears (bringing it under 2 months arrears).

As there was no answer, or money forthcoming, I fixed the section 8 to the front door and a copy to the back door. I then photographed this with a copy of the daily paper to show when it was done. I also phoned his mobile and left a message on his voicemail informing him what I had done and asking him to phone me and make immediate arrangements to bring the rent up-to-date if he did'nt want me to enforce this eviction.
