I had a new tenant move into my HMO in mid Feb - he is on a monthly direct debit payment plan.

Yesterday I went to visit the tenants and heard that the new guy is causing lots of problems - he drinks very heavily and he has been found almost unconscious in the lounge several times, unsettles the female tenants by being lecherous to them, doesn't wash his clothes regularly so smells and wees around the bathroom.

He has never signed a tenancy agreement.

So, as his behaviour would seem to be gross-misconduct in a work environment, would I be within my rights to give him 2 weeks notice (he has paid until 14th April) to leave the property? My tenants want him to go asap as he is such a big problem.

How do I need to handle this?

Thanks

Fiona
