Rented property being re-possessed

A tenant has signed a 6 month AST on 6 July 07. On 10 July 07 the tenant received a letter from Morgan Stanley stating that the landlord has defaulted on the mortgage and the property is being re-possessed. The states that the tenant must be out of the property by 2 August 07.

Please could you advise as to the tenant's rights?
