my tenants signed a 12 month contract at the end of April 2007 and have just asked if they can give notice to leave at 6 months. I'm not sure how to deal with this request. There is no get-out-clause in the agreement. Obviously I would rather they stayed (paying their rent) until the end of the agreement, but I am a bit cautious as I have had tenants previously who have not paid their rent and ended up owing a large amount of money.

The current tenants have not caused any concerns previously.

Your advise would be much appreciated.
