When serving a section 21 notice on a tenant who is absent - I need a witness - does this witness need to sign a statement to the effect that the S21 notiice has been put through the tenants letterbox?

Is there a standard format for presenting the testimony of such a witness?

Also can any independant adult of good character act as witness or doe sit need to be a professional person ie. teacher, doctor etc?
