I have two young lads on a joint tenancy ( 6 months tenancy agreement assuresd shorhold tenancy) in one of my properties.
They took up the tenancy agreement (and moved in) on 29th October 2007. Their rent was due on the 29th of November and they issued a cheque that has bounced after being represented three times. They are skirting around paying me this rent even though I have been to the property on 4 ocassions. They are saying the money has come from their account and if it hasn't come to me where has it gone!! As far as I am concerned their finances aren't my problem and if the money has disappeared it is not for me to try and sort it. I am in possession of the bounced cheque and have shown it to them but they are still denying owing it.
They are only 6 weeks in to the 6 month agreement; can I still evict them and if so what procedure would I take as it is only 2.5 weeks over due?
Thank you
