one of my staff members attended a course on my behalf as i had given birth early so was unable to attend. (March Manchester) It was extremeley helpful and i will be attending the next!!
However unfortunately same staff member did all related paperwrok to this. The tenancy agreement signed on the 25th May 12 and the deposit submitted on the 19th June 12. However in error she has put on the deposit submission that the tenancy start date was 19th june 12 instead of 25th may 12.
Where do we stand now. I know we will need to re issue a section 21 and give 60 days notice. If we then go down this route and we have to apply to court how will the fact the deposit went in 24 days after tenancy start and will the input error effect things?
Is it easier to give the tenant chance to pay arrears and if not issue a section 8 after two months of arrears as it appears that the deposit submission form is not needed in this case.
I am totally worried that the tenants can literally stay in the property for ever without paying rent just because of a staff member error.
Kind Regards
