Used the AST agreement to enter into a 12 month tenancy with a 6 month break. Now past the 6 month period and thinking of selling the property. Rent has been renogiated with the tenant and tenant naturally does not want to be tied in for 6 month minimum period if the property might be up for sale. Can the AST agreement be used for shorter tenancies of say month to month?

Is it mandatory to give tenants two months notice to leave?
