My son has recently moved into a shared house with three other students. The cooker is faulty with one burner and the oven igniter not working. He has to get on his knees with a match to light the oven. Also the oven has two settings -full on or off. The temperature control is not working. Any suggestions on how to get the reluctant landlord to remedy the situation?

Another issue has come to light as well. There are no fire extinguishers in the house although the brackets are on the wall.
