Assured Shorthold Tenancies from 1st October

Dear Helpdesk

With regards to contracted out tenancies currently in force for rents over £25,000 a year. When the law changes on 1st October and they become assured shorthold tenancies, does the actual agreement carry on or does one have to physically prepare a new agreement which all parties sign etc.
