seeking advice on whether to include gas/electric onto monthly rental

over last few years for whatever reasons students have struggled to pay their utility bills on time resulting in threats from debt collecting agencies etc. I know that the last lot of students failed to pay their final bill and i know that as the bill was in the students names and not mine i am not responsible. I am worried that if this continues then the utility company might refuse to supply in the future. My idea was to charge an extra £10 per week to each student which should generate more than enough to pay the bills. any money outstanding at the end of the tenancy would be shared out amongst the students. Please advise your thoughts/experiences as to whether this is a good move or not. thank you
