Hopefully somebody can answer this.

I am thinking of selling one of my BTL properties.

If the entire proceeds of the sale are re-invested in another BTL property (I will use the same portable mortgage) within the same sale/pucrhase transaction. Would I be able to carry any capital gains over to the new property or would I still be liable for it?

Any help would be appreciated.
