My tenants were responsible for their council taxes. The last of them were due to to leave at on the 21st January, I informed the Council and asked them if they were up-to-date. I was told they couldn't tell me. Now they have left and their accounts have been closed i have been told there is £195 to pay. By rights at this time of the year Council taxes should have all been paid, can i refuse to pay?
