Our tenancy contract states that there should not be any changes to the electric/gas supply. Unknown to us meters were installed by the supplier--eon-- for the tenant who we have just managed to get out of the property for being in arrears.

What are the landlords rights here?

Eon have told me that I must pay to have the meters removed or have the supply in my name for 12 months before they will remove the meter for free.

Can I sue eon for installing meters without my permission?
