I used a letting agent to let and manage one of my properties in mar 2006 to 2 individuals . There is a written tenancy agreement in their names. The dep was before the govt schemes so i hold it in a seperate account. When I took over the managemnt i noticed there were more people apparantly staying there . I then had a message from the tenant I always dealt with, named on the tenancy ,saying he was returning abroad but his friends would continue .I now have the names of all 4 living there , none of which match the original names . They are no probelm and always pay on time. Can i just send letter confriming transfer of tenancy to new names as per original agreement into these names or do i have to issue new tenacncy agreement dated from now which then means dealing with deposit under govt scheme?
