One of my properties in Gateshead is in a clearance area and I've just been informed by the council that they will be applying for a CP order in the new year. I have the option of taking a valuation now, but the market is so on it's backside that it's likely I will be in negative equity even with the compensation payment. Anyone know how much leeway there is for negotiation or whether I am best placed digging my heels in and making myself a pain that they will pay to go away???
