Hello,

I am asking this from the point of view of my 'other life' as a tenant in London...

I am renting via an agent and when looking round the flat originally, I was told that there was a telelphone line in situ and therefore internet access as well by the Estate agent (but not in writing)

3 weeks down the line after many calls to BT trying to set an account up, it appears that there is no BT line there at all at the moment, and it may be that there is no line at all - therefore it will be £124.99 connection fee from BT.

The agent is refusing to say if the Landlord(s) will pay for this, even though it will remain as a permanaent enhancing feature to the flat. I have not yet has a copy of the inventory, and there is nothing specific relating to provision of a line in the contract.

Is there any way round this? I feel quite annoyed, especially as if it were my tenants I would be taking some responsibility here...

Mnay thanks,

O
