Can anyone answer this query please?
Does advertising a double bedroom mean you must put a double bed in it?
Reason for asking, 3 yrs ago started renting property to students with 1 dble room (out of 4) with dble bed.
Out of 3 different tenants for this particular room, 2 have abused this by moving in their "partners" (albeit temporarily) upsetting other tenants.
Reason I ask is I have just purchased another property with potentially 4 double bedrooms, which could mean (being totally paranoid!)- 9 tenants in a 5 letting room house. Not ideal by any means.
Did try to stipulate in first tenancy agreement no "partners" allowed to stay on even short term basis (as charge would be levied) but tenant did not like this and we agreed to waive it! (foolish or what?) and of course more often than not partner in house!!
How do you get around this potential problem?
