My son is sharing a house with 4 friends in Exeter while studying in university. The ground floor is infested with slugs on the ground floor which is evident by the trails left on the carpet. Some of the tenants have stepped on the slugs accidentally in the night which is very unpleasant.

The agent is reluctant to do anything. The advice was to pick them up and chuck them outside. Is there a legal requirement for the landlord or agent to take action?

They have also tried laying salt but that has not worked
