How long does it take to get a tenancy credit check result back?

I entered two names and addresses into the credit check screen today. It would be useful to be able to view the details entered after the submit button has been clicked. There is no way to see the progress of the check. Please would you clarify how the process works and how long it is likely to be before the results are posted to our e-mail address.
There is no way of knowing whether the details we entered were correct or whether the mail has gone astray or the search been rejected to allow us to make other enquiries.
Look forward to hearing if I am missing something somewhere.
