The RLA and other landlord associations are urging members to take advantage of grants for improving building insulation before 31 December 2012. One of my properties, a HMO in South Wales, has an 'F' rating and must be improved to at least 'E' before 2018 if I am to continue letting it. I'm keen to claim grant aid, but Warmfront and other websites I've looked at seem to suggest that landlords cannot apply directly, although I understand the tenants can. However, if my tenants refuse to cooperate does that mean I'm unable to obtain grant assistance?

Is it possible to apply on behalf of my tenants, with their agreement?
