Hi all,

My boiler has recently packed in and i need a new one installed which is taking place right now.

Unfortunately my Tenant seemed more preoccupied with saying that as there is no heating, they will need to go stay in a Travelodge. Although they have temporary heating, and the hot water is ok, the central heating is off and so they dont want to live there. I didnt argue too much with this as the weather has been very cold and they have a 1yr old child. I said that, as is mentioned in the AST, if they have to move out whilst a repair is being done then the rent doesnt need to be paid. This works out pro-rata to £36/day.
They are now saying that travelodge charges more than £36/day and are implying that i must meet the extra cost.

Does anyone know whether this is correct, or have any ideas suggestions on this matter?

Thanks
Changnoy
