I have today recieved a letter from our local council regarding the property that I privately rent out unmanaged, It states that they have inspected the property on the tenants behalf without our knowledge and have raised hazards that need our attention. An example of one of these hazards is excess cold and it states that they have a duty to take formal enforcement action to make us do the works they have noted. I am asking for some advise with this matter first of I was not aware that the council had anything to do with our private rental and gaining access to our property? I am really at a loss to understand where I stand with this and if i have to have the list of works done? Any advise would be great as I have no idea. Has any one else been through this?

Thakyou
