Hello. I have a AST agreement with a tenant for a room in a flat. The Tenant has been renting the flat for 8 months and the agreement is for 6 months after which it rolls into a monthly tenancy. The AST requires me to give the tenant 2 months notice to leave - if I give this notice, is the tenant bound to pay rent until the end of the 2 month period or can they serve a counter notice terminating the tenancy giving one months notice during the 2 month notice period? Thanks
