tenant injured through carelessness /negligence by another tenant in shared accomodation

In a shared accomodation a tenant is injured by a falling bottle left on top of the fridge by another tenant. His shoulder is slightly briused but wants to claim damages from the other tenant. The landlord has been informed .What is the landlord responsibility in such an instance.
