If tenant on LHA found working

I have 4 tenants on housing benefit which is paid direct to me.

In a conversation today I was told that if a tenant is found to be working when claiming housing benefit then the housing benefit would be claimed back from me and not the tenant. But yet if the tenant was paid the housing benefit then it would be claimed back from them.

Surly this can’t be true. Are landlords now supposed to be on the lookout for falsely claiming tenants and then report them to the local authority to protect our rent ?
