Rolling Tenacy - Term valid if fixed term agreement expired

We have allowed a tenant to roll the tenancy on a monthly basis with no new documentation issued or changes made to the monthly rent. Tenancy expired July 12 and tenant is still resident and now wishes to vacate. We have a 60 day notice period in the origional tenancy agreement. Is this still valid?
