Boiler problem and tenants claiming they need to go in hotel

I recently had the boiler fail in the property and there were delays to getting it repaired straight away. The tenants threatened they would book into a hotel if it wasn't repaired within a week. Please can you advise if the tenants have the right to make such a claim for their hotel expenses if they chose to pursue this course of action. Please advise to what extent I am liable, I am doing all I can to push and get the boiler repaired as soon as possible.
