can the boyfriend move in

I have a good relationship with my tenant of about 18 months. she has asked me if her boyfriend can move in without changing her contract so he would not be included on it that way if it doesn't work out she could stay with no problem. my understanding is that every adult living in the property must be on the contract otherwise it leaves me wide open if there should be any problem. would it also make our current contract void.
