Possession - Section 8 and Section 21

Dear RLA,

I have a tenancy starting 14-11-2012 for 6 months. We want to serve 2 months notice now and I believe this should be for 14 June 2013?
Also is it a section 21a or section 21b? I thought it was 21a but would appreciate your advice on this.
