Just read Lillewis' question, and it got me thinking, though I have no legal opinion on that. I have the opposite situation. My couple gave me their notice as they were buying a house together. I was delighted actually as though their great tenants I am considering selling one property anyway.

Yesterday the guy told me its all off, she has left for good, and he is staying. That's fine I can live with that. I just want to know, as it was a joint tenancy, is the any need to do a new AST in just his name. I know the guy well, he's actually my gas fitter, I'm just thinking if its left would I one day need to issue s21 in both names, years after she is off the scene, which would seem daft.
