Advertise A Property Whilst Being Purchased

Can anyone tell me if it is ok to advertise a property for let that is currently being purchased?

I'm in the process of buying a property and was going to ask a letting agent to advertise it for me to try and limit the void period and wondered whether it was worth asking them to advertise it now for me or if to wait until the purchase is complete.

I presume I can't have it marketed until the sale is complete as you can't advertise a property for let that you don't yet own but I can't seem to find a definitive answer anywhere and it would obviously be nice to get it marketed sooner rather than later?
